Rain, freezing rain and snow are all expected in several batches this weekend, so travel could be dicey.

When should you leave to avoid it? It depends on where you're traveling, but forecasters say your best bets will be tonight or Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

"Saturday looks to be the best day during the day and into the evening hours," said Paul Walker, an Accuweather meteorologist. "Sunday afternoon should be between systems, too."
